Quick answer
What should I know before renting a Ravenquay unmetered server?
Ravenquay rents unmetered offshore servers: a whole machine with an unmetered 1 or 10 Gbit/s port, from $72.62 per 30 days. You choose Reykjavik, Zurich, Bucharest or Amsterdam, pay in crypto with no KYC, and get root over SSH. A person prepares the server within 72 hours. Tor relays, including exits, and VPNs you run yourself are welcome.
What is Ravenquay in one paragraph?
Ravenquay rents offshore dedicated servers with unmetered 1 and 10 Gbit/s ports in Reykjavik, Zurich, Bucharest and Amsterdam: each one a whole physical machine with root access and no monthly traffic quota, paid in crypto with no KYC (no ID, no selfie, no documents). It is run by DomaineGoat LLC, a company registered in Panama, and each server also falls under the data-protection law of its datacenter's country. On the 30-day term, each berth is priced at least 25% under a named comparable unmetered server from 10 no-KYC crypto hosts, read on 30 October 2026.

What do people ask about bandwidth?
Is a 10 Gbps unmetered server really unmetered?
At Ravenquay, yes, and the rule is written in one sentence: Unmetered means no monthly traffic quota and no overage bill: the port speed of your plan, 1 or 10 Gbit/s, is the only limit. Each server has one dedicated IPv4 address and an IPv6 /64. Harbor 10G costs $356.25 per 30 days. Elsewhere the word varies: some hosts add fair-use clauses or a committed rate below the port speed. The wording at other hosts is compared in Is a 10 Gbps "unmetered" server really unmetered?
How many TB per month can a 1 Gbps port transfer?
About 324 TB in 30 days, in each direction. One gigabit per second is 125 megabytes per second, and 30 days hold 2,592,000 seconds. A 10 Gbit/s port moves ten times that, about 3,240 TB. The full table is on How many TB per month can a 1 Gbps port transfer?
Do I need a 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps port on my server?
Most single services fit in 1 Gbit/s; a 10 Gbit/s port pays off when traffic sits near a gigabit for hours. Busy Tor exits, VPN gateways for many users and public mirrors are typical cases. Harbor 8 and Harbor 16 carry 1 Gbit/s; Harbor 10G carries 10. See Do I need a 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps port on my server?
How much does a 10 Gbps dedicated server cost?
Harbor 10G costs $356.25 per 30 days, unmetered. On 30 October 2026, its named reference, an unmetered 10 Gbit/s offer from a no-KYC crypto host, was KoDDoS at $475.00; we do not claim to be the cheapest at every size. The median across 4 hosts was $1130.66. More prices are on How much does 10 Gbps dedicated server hosting cost per month?
What is 95th percentile bandwidth billing?
It bills your port by its busiest normal rate. The host samples traffic every five minutes, drops the top 5% of samples, and charges for the highest one left. In a 30-day month that ignores about 36 hours of peaks. Ravenquay does not bill this way: each berth has one flat price. The method is explained in What is 95th percentile bandwidth billing?
What do people ask about the countries and data protection?
Is Iceland a good country for offshore hosting?
Iceland suits projects that want European rules without EU membership. It belongs to the European Economic Area but not to the EU. Only 7 of the 34 dedicated-server hosts we checked sell machines there, and Reykjavik is one of our ports of call. The country is covered in Is Iceland a good country for offshore hosting?
Is Switzerland a good country for privacy hosting?
Switzerland is the one port of call outside both the EU and the EEA. It works with the EU through bilateral agreements instead. 10 of the 34 hosts we checked sell dedicated servers there. Berths run in Zurich at the usual price. Its law is discussed in Is Switzerland a good country for privacy hosting?
Is Romania a good country for offshore hosting?
Romania is an EU member, so EU rules apply, with Romanian law on top. 9 of the 34 hosts we checked sell dedicated servers there, and Bucharest is one of our four ports of call. Its retention rules have their own history, set out in Is Romania a good country for offshore hosting?
Is Panama a good jurisdiction for a hosting company?
It is the one Ravenquay chose, and the choice covers the company, not the servers. Ravenquay belongs to DomaineGoat LLC, a company incorporated in Panama that answers to Panamanian law alone. The datacenter holding each server operates under the law of its own country. So a server in Zurich answers to Swiss law, while the contract and the account records sit with a Panamanian company. The reasoning is on Is Panama a good jurisdiction for a hosting company?
Can police seize my server in another country?
The machine sits in a datacenter under that country's law, so that law decides how anyone reaches it. On our side, records are short: We keep no logs at all: no connection records, no traffic records and no IP addresses of visitors or customers, whether on the website, in the dashboard or on the servers. We hand over records only when a Panamanian court orders it. The paths authorities use are described in Can police seize my server in another country?
What is a warrant canary, and do hosting providers have one?
A warrant canary is a dated statement that no secret order has been received; if it stops, readers draw their own conclusion. Some providers publish one. Ravenquay does not. What canaries can and cannot prove is on What is a warrant canary, and do hosting providers publish one?
What do people ask about payment and setup?
Can I buy a 10 Gbps unmetered server with crypto?
Yes. Ravenquay accepts BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, from a $25 minimum top-up. You top up a balance, then reserve Harbor 10G from it for 30 days, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months. Monero and Bitcoin Lightning are not accepted. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your servers. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.
Can I rent a server without KYC?
Yes. No KYC: no ID, no selfie, no documents, no card and no phone number, ever. An account number is all you need to sign in; an email address is optional. Guard your account number: it is the key to your account. If you add an email you can recover the number; if you do not, a lost number is lost for good. Ravenquay checked 34 dedicated-server hosts on 30 October 2026: only 13 never asked for an ID document.
How long does setup take, and is there a console?
A member of the team sets up your server after your payment is confirmed, within 72 hours, so delivery is not instant; follow its status in the dashboard until the IP address appears. Other hosts state a median of 24 hours, so we are slower than most. Customers get no IPMI or KVM-over-IP console; the team carries out the reboots and reinstalls you ask for in the dashboard. Root over SSH, your way: give a public key at checkout and password login is switched off, or leave the field blank and a temporary root password arrives with the server, to change the first time you log in.
What do people ask about Tor relays?
What are the requirements to run a Tor relay?
The Tor Project sets 10 Mbit/s as the minimum and recommends at least 16 Mbit/s each way. A relay needs a public IPv4 address and at least 100 GB of outbound traffic a month. AES-NI CPUs are recommended. Every berth clears these by far. Hardware and settings are on What do I need to run a Tor relay on a rented server?
Should I run a Tor middle relay, bridge or exit?
On Ravenquay all three are allowed: Tor exit relays are welcome, along with middle relays and bridges. A middle relay is the quiet choice. A bridge helps users on blocked networks. An exit carries traffic out to the open internet, so it draws complaints, and the operator answers them. See Should I run a Tor middle relay, bridge or exit?
How much bandwidth does a Tor exit relay use?
As much as the network sends it, within limits you set. The Tor Project asks for at least 100 GB a month and recommends more than 2 TB. It allows eight relays per IPv4 address and suggests 1.5 GB of RAM per tor instance on an exit. On an unmetered port, the quota is never the constraint. Sizing at 10 Gbit/s is on How much bandwidth does a Tor exit relay use, and can it fill 10 Gbps?
What do people ask about VPNs and self-hosted apps?
How do I start my own VPN service?
Start with servers that have a clean IPv4, an unmetered port and a country that suits your users. Then pick a protocol such as WireGuard or OpenVPN, and plan for abuse mail. Ravenquay allows VPNs for paying users. Port 25 is closed for outgoing mail on every server, permanently, to keep spam off the network; ports 465 and 587 toward mail providers stay open. The full plan is on How do I start my own VPN service on rented servers?
Which country is best for hosting a VPN server?
For an operator, the best country balances its law, the distance to your users and how its networks connect. Iceland, Switzerland, Romania and the Netherlands each lead on a different point, and a berth costs the same in all four. The comparison is on Which country is best for hosting a VPN server?
What server do I need to host a Matrix homeserver?
Any berth can run one. Harbor 8 has 8 cores / 16 threads and 64 GB DDR4 ECC, with mirrored NVMe. With Proxmox VE, the homeserver can sit in its own virtual machine next to your other services. Sizing by number of users is in What server do I need to host a Matrix homeserver?
